Tottenham will step up their long-standing interest in Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj in January, according to The Daily Mirror.
Badelj, 27, has two years remaining on his existing deal and there were suggestions from his representatives that he would not look to extend his stay.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the Croatia international in the past and will look to rekindle their interest in the £7m-rated midfielder at the turn of the year.
In the last three Serie A campaigns only Gonzalo Rodriguez (174) has completed more interceptions for Fiorentina than Badelj (135).
