Bayern veterans eyes new deal

Franck Ribery is still hopeful of securing a new deal at Bayern Munich.

The former France international has spent the last decade at Bayern since making the £20m switch from Marseille but has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal.

Ribery, 33, has struggled with a series of reoccurring injuries in the last few years but insists he wants to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.

“I hope so,” Ribery told Goal.com, via The Daily Mail, when questioned whether he wants to prolong his Bayern stay. “I don’t know what will happen. I have such good form, the rest will come.”

Ribery started in Bayern’s opening game of the Bundesliga season and scored once and registered an assist in a 6-0 win over Werder Bremen. However, in the last four Bundesliga seasons Ribery has only managed to start in 23.6% of Bayern’s league matches.
