Leeds are ready to pounce for out-of-contract Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale, reports The Daily Mirror.
Stockdale’s contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and it remains to be seen whether he will be offered a new deal despite playing an important role in the clubs promotion this season.
The 31-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in January as Antonio Conte seeked a replacement for back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic but was not blocked from securing a move to the Premier League leaders.
However, Stockdale’s impressive performances for Brighton have put the likes of Leeds and Middlesbrough on red alert ahead of the summer transfer window.
The former Fulham goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the Championship this season (19) and was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season last week.
