Payet teases sensational Marseille return

West Ham star Dimitri Payet has revealed he would be open to making a sensational return to Marseille in the future.

Slaven Bilic’s side are expected to receive a wave of interest for Payet in January after being heavily linked with a move away from the club following their poor start to the season.

Having established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining West Ham in 2015, Payet would not be short of suitors when the transfer window opens, but the France international has surprisingly revealed a return to Marseille could be of interest.

“I am not closing the door to anything,” Payet told SFR Sports, via Get French Football. “Marseille have a new project which seems interesting. Aside from that, we are obviously waiting to see the first few things that the new owners do, but Marseille knows how attached I am to the club.

“When I talk about it, I say the best possible things, because that is what I think, so why not.”

Payet teases sensational Marseille return

Payet spent two years with Marseille where he developed into one of the best creative forces in Europe before West Ham sought his services in 2015 in a deal worth a reported £10m.

The 29-year-old has created at least 12 more chances than any other player in the premier League this season (63).
