Middlesbrough want to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on a season-long loan deal with a view to a £15m permanent deal, reports The Daily Mail.
Everton signed Bolasie from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in a £25m deal two years ago but the 29-year-old hasn't fully recovered from a serious knee injury suffered at the start of 2017.
Marco Silva has already bolstered his offensive options with the £40m arrival of Richarlison and the Toffees are on the verge of signing Bernard on a free transfer, pushing Bolasie further down the pecking order.
Everton are now looking to offload the tricky winger before Thursday's deadline and Championship side Middlesbrough have emerged as shock suitors.
With Adama Traore on the verge of securing an £18m move to Premier League side Wolves, Middlesbrough need to sign a new winger and have earmarked Bolasie as their top transfer target.
Palace are also considering a move to re-sign Bolasie and it would be a huge coup for Tony Pulis' side if they can convince the Everton forward to drop down to the Championship.
Since joining Everton, the Merseysiders have a better win ratio when Bolasie has not started (43.4%) compared to when he has featured from the off (30.4%).
