Carlos Bacca wants Sevilla return, confirms agent

The agent of Carlos Bacca has confirmed the AC Milan striker wants to leave and return to Sevilla this summer.

Bacca is free to leave Milan and has already been heavily linked with a move to Valencia and Marseille.

The Colombia international has only spent two years with Milan but a change of ownership has brought huge investment and the 30-year-old is now deemed surplus to requirements by Vincenzo Montella.

Interested teams have so far baulked at Milan’s €20m (£18.1m) valuation, but Bacca’s agent, Sergio Barila, has confirmed a return to Sevilla tops his summer wish list.

“It’s well known that he would like to go back to Sevilla,” he told Estadio Deportivo, via Football Espana. “He’s had a wonderful part of his life and sporting career there, which is why he’d love a return.

“When Bacca arrived at Milan, he signed a five-year contract and intended to see it through, but unfortunately there was a change of ownership and sporting direction, so they have other ideas.

“This is why the best thing is to find a solution that makes everyone happy. Having said that, Carlos and his family really like being in Milan and remaining is still an option.”

While they have left the door open to staying at San Siro, that option will be firmly closed if Milan are capable of signing another striker, which they currently intend on doing. Montella’s side have already made Porto striker Andre Silva one of the club’s most expensive players of all-time, while they are also still interested in Chelsea outcast Diego Costa.

Since joining Milan from Sevilla in 2015, Bacca is the only player at the club that has reached double figures for goals in Serie A (31).
