Former Chelsea defender admits Inter talks

PSV Eindhoven defender Jeffry Bruma has revealed he has held talks with Inter regarding a summer move.

Bruma, 24, excelled at the heart of PSV’s defence this season as they successfully defended their league title and the Netherlands international has been tipped for pastures new.

Inter and Wolfsburg are among the sides leading the chase to sign the former Chelsea defender but he is keeping his options open ahead of the transfer market and could even remain with PSV.

“The interview with Inter was about how they see me in their team for the coming season. How their coach Roberto Mancini sees me. Conversely, I asked my questions. You can hear each other out a little bit,” Bruma told AD, via Football Oranje.

“The English league is very nice, I’m obviously been there before. But through my HSV period I also have a good idea of the Bundesliga. All top four leagues I like in advance. I would like to ask Stefan de Vrij how he is experiencing Italy. Too bad he is not yet at Orange.

“While I doubt I make no choice, since this stage of my career is too important for that. There’s just too many ways out. Remaining at PSV is always possible. And is certainly not a punishment. I would stay for the Champions League. Purely to develop through me at that stage, because the Eredivisie I have now won twice already.”

Bruma was particularly impressive in the Champions League this season, where PSV made it all the way until the round of 16 before going out on penalties to Atletico Madrid.

In fact, Bruma finished the campaign as PSV’s highest rated player in the competition (7.45). No teammate completed more tackles (22), made more clearances (49) and interceptions (24) and only striker Luuk de Jong (30) won more aerial duels than Bruma (16).
