Liverpool ready to strike cut-price deal for in-demand Lille sensation
Liverpool are readying a move for in-demand Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, whose value has taken a hit in recent weeks, reports Spanish publication Sport.
Soumare was the subject of intense interest from England and across Europe in January as speculation over his future countinued to mount.
Newcastle are believed to have been rejected by the player at the turn of the year, while the Magpies could firm up their interest in the 21-year-old in the summer.
However, they will face competition from Liverpool and LaLiga giants Real Madrid in the race to sign Soumare.
Lille had hoped to receive upwards of €40m for the midfielder at the turn of the year, but a combination of a downturn in form and the Coronavirus pandemic means that his valuation has supposedly dropped to around €25m, which appeals to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is thought to be a huge admirer of Soumare and has urged the board to bring the youngster to Anfield.
Real Madrid will also push to sign the Lille ace this summer, though they may elect to turn their attention to teenager Eduardo Camavinga, who has excelled for Rennes this season.
