Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to reunite with Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian at Stamford Bridge in January, according to Calciomercato, via 101 Great Goals.
Darmian, 26, has completely dropped down the pecking order at United this season following Jose Mourinho’s arrival and their relationship is reportedly at breaking point.
The Italy international was part of Conte’s squad for Euro 2016 and the Chelsea manager now wants to bring him to the Bridge as he seeks further defensive reinforcement in the January transfer window.
Darmian is yet to feature of United this season but his performances in his debut campaign where extremely disappointing, with form and fitness combining to just 24 starts in the league.
