Tottenham boss Nuno bullish over Kane's future

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists he has no doubts over Harry Kane's commitment to the club.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from the north London side this summer after reiterating his desire to leave Spurs prior to Euro 2020.

Manchester City are the frontrunners in the race to sign the England captain, while Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for the 27-year-old.

It has been reported that City saw a bid of around £100m rejected last month as Spurs remain steadfast in their desire to retain Kane's services.

And when asked if he expects to have Kane available for Spurs' first game of the season at his first press conference for his new employers, Nuno is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: "I have no doubts in my mind. What I wish is for Harry to recover well and have a good rest.

"When he arrives he will feel that he has to commit himself to become better. We are ambitious, we want to do well and we count on Harry to do that.

"Harry is our player, period. There is no need to talk about anything else. Now is the time for him to rest. When he returns we can have a good conversation. I am looking forward to him joining the group."

Kane, who has three years left to run on his deal with Tottenham, ended the 2020/21 Premier League with a better WhoScored rating (7.79) than any other player having finished top for both goals (23) and assists (14).
