Brighton set hefty asking price for Liverpool and Man Utd target
Brighton are prepared to cash in on star midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United, but are demanding £85m for the 20-year-old, reports the Mirror on Sunday.
The Ecuador international has been a regular feature for the Seagulls since breaking into the first team last season and his performances on the south coast have not gone unnoticed.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen in midfield next year and have been linked with a move for Caicedo, as well as other young players in the position, while United actually turned down the chance to sign the Brighton star last year.
Chelsea, who are now managed by former Seagulls boss Graham Potter, have also been credited with an interest in Caicedo with the Blues facing their own midfield issues.
However, despite interest in his services, Caicedo last month admitted he is happy at Brighton, stating: "I’m very happy here at Brighton. I’m not thinking about any other club than Brighton. This is the club where I am now and I will give everything for this club and to keep doing well here."
Caicedo has returned a WhoScored rating of 6.91 this season having started all 12 league games for Brighton, who earned their first win under Roberto De Zerbi on Saturday as the Seagulls trounced Chelsea 4-1.
