Barcelona eye surprise move for France international

Barcelona are interested in signing Tigres striker Andre-Pierre Gignac this summer, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Luis Enrique has been desperate to add a fourth striker to the squad all summer and has so far been unsuccessful after missing out on targets Luciano Vietto and Kevin Gameiro in recent weeks.

Barcelona are now reportedly considering a move for 30-year-old striker Gignac, who has spent the last two years playing in Mexico.

The veteran striker was part of the France squad that finished Euro 2016 as losing finalists and Gignac spurned a glorious chance to win the final for his country prior to extra-time, but could only hit the post from close range.

Only Ricardo Quaresma (6) was subbed on more times at Euro 2016 than Gignac (5).
