Chelsea set to break club transfer record for new defender

Chelsea are poised to shatter their club transfer record and bid £60m for Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Antonio Conte’s side have been heavily linked with Koulibaly all summer but have failed to match Napoli’s demands until now.

However, that could all be about to change with Chelsea now set to make Koulibaly the most expensive defender of all-time with a staggering £60m bid.

Only two players won possession more times in the defensive third in Serie A last season than Koulibaly (159).
