Manchester United defender set for crunch talks

Eric Bailly will have talks with Manchester United about his future at the club ahead of the January transfer window, claims The Sun.

The Ivory Coast international was the first signing made by Jose Mourinho at United and cost the Red Devils £30m from Villarreal in 2016.

Bailly has arguably turned in the best displays of any defender at the club under Mourinho but has mysteriously dropped completely out of favour this year.

With Mourinho planning further reinforcement at the back in January, Bailly’s future at the club looks bleak even though the Portuguese reportedly still rates him highly.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are all monitoring Bailly’s Old Trafford future and the 24-year-old will discover his fate with talks scheduled in the coming weeks.

United have a significantly better win ratio in the Premier League with Bailly in the starting XI (63.2%) under Mourinho compared to when he has not featured (50%).
