Celta Vigo inside forward Nolito is jetting in for talks with Manchester City on Wednesday as Pep Guardiola’s side close in on a £13.8m move for the Spaniard, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Guardiola deemed Nolito surplus to requirements during his time as Barcelona manager before selling the 29-year-old to Benfica in 2011 but is now keen to reunite with the Spain international at the Etihad this summer.
Nolito was part of the Spain squad that was knocked out of Euro 2016 in the round of 16 following their 2-0 defeat to Italy on Monday and will reportedly sign a three-year deal following his medical, which is due to happen in the next 24 hours.
The Celta star finished last season as their highest rated player in La Liga (7.44) after playing a direct hand in more goals than any other player (19 – 12 goals, seven assists). Not only that, but only Lionel Messi (12) was awarded more WhoScored.com Man of the Match awards than Nolito (9).
