Nice manager Claude Puel has revealed he hopes key player Hatem Ben Arfa is not at the club next season.
Ben Arfa, 28, only joined Nice at the start of the year from Newcastle and only made his debut for the club at the start of the season.
The France international has been in sublime form since the start of the campaign and his performances have already seen him linked with a move away from the club and his manager hopes he gets the move he deserves.
“I hope for him that he will not be at Nice next year. The top level, it is not just about dazzling. It is about consistency, volume of your game, working to recover… all of that is what he is acquiring this year,” Puel told Nice Matin in an interview.
“I am not surprised to hear that big clubs like Real Madrid are following him.”
Of players to have made at least 12 league starts in Ligue 1 this season, only two players are requiring fewer minutes per successful dribble tan Ben Arfa (every 22.4 mins).
