Monaco have completed the signing of Anderlecht youngster Youri Tielemans for £21.2m, reports Le Soir.
The French giants had been strongly linked with a move for the Belgium international in recent weeks, with the Ligue 1 leaders eager to wrap up his signing before the end of the season.
Tielemans had attracted interest from a host of Premier League sides, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, but the trio - among others - look to have missed out on the midfielder.
It remains to be seen whether Tielemans’ impending arrival will affect Tiemoue Bakayoko’s future at the club, with the Frenchman rumoured to be on the way out of the club in the summer.
Chelsea are leading the race to sign Bakayoko and it’s likely that the Blues will wrap up his capture once the campaign draws to a close.
Monaco would favour keeping Bakayoko at the Stade Louis II, but it’s thought that Tielemans’ signing would effectively end the former’s stay at the club.
Tielemans, 20, impressed for Anderlecht before their Europa League exit at the hands of Manchester United, with the Belgian gaining a WhoScored rating of 7.35 in the competition.
