Bayern Munich are ready to lock horns with Arsenal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, claims Spanish outlet Eldesmarque.
Atletico are scrambling to secure Partey's long-term future in the wake of interest from their European rivals and have even offered to double the midfielder's current £65,000-a-week deal.
Arsenal have been alerted to Partey's potential availability due to a £43.6m release clause in his existing Atletico deal, which Diego Simeone's side are desperate to increase.
The Gunners have even pondered offering former Atletico target Alexandre Lacazette as a makeweight to get a deal over the line due to their current financial woes.
However, Mikel Arteta's side are not the only big name club chasing Partey's signature, with Bundesliga giants Bayern now in the mix.
Bayern are expected to be one of the most active sides in the summer transfer window as they look to bring through a new wave of players.
Hansi Flick is on the market for a replacement for Javi Martinez, who turns 32 in September, and has earmarked Partey as a top target.
Partey has been forced to be patient for regular playing time at Atletico but this season has finally cemented himself as a key player under Simeone.
Despite massive strides this season, Partey has surprisingly committed the most errors leading to an opposition shot in LaLiga in 2019/20 (6).
