AC Milan looking to bring in Manchester City creator

AC Milan are weighing up a move for Manchester City star David Silva when his contract expires, reports Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport.

Silva will leave City when his current deal draws to a close, though that will be later than July 1st after FIFA announced their intention for teams to provide short-term deals for players whose contracts are expiring this summer after the season was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

And when the time comes for Silva to depart City, AC Milan are hoping to lure him to Italy.

The 34-year-old has been a key man for City following his arrival from Valencia in 2010 and his exit, despite his age, will be a blow for the club.

A return to Spain has been mooted, but AC Milan are hoping to convince him to swap England for Italy later this year.

Silva has been a key player for City over the last 10 years, though he has been limited to just 16 league starts this season.

That said, City's win ratio improves from 58.3% to 68.7% when Silva starts in the Premier League this season, while 48 of their 68 goals scored have come in the matches the Spaniard has featured in from the off.
