Zaha’s new agent puts Chelsea in pole position for signature

Chelsea are the favourites to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha this month, claims The Daily Mail.

Zaha is desperate to secure a return to one of Europe’s biggest clubs and has hired super agent Pini Zahavi to help secure a move away from his boyhood club.

Zahavi has close connections to Chelsea, including owner Roman Abramovich after helping the Russian billionaire buy the west London outfit 17 years ago.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard wants to bolster his squad during the January transfer window now their FIFA-imposed transfer ban has been lifted.

Lampard has earmarked Zaha as a top transfer target for the club, though is prepared to wait until the summer with Palace expected to dig their heels in over his departure midway through the campaign.

The 27-year-old has played a direct hand in five goals in 21 league appearances this season and ranks second behind Adama Traore (111) for most dribbles completed in the division (107).
