Watford re-sign Everton midfielder

Watford have announced they have re-signed Tom Cleverley from Everton on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.

Cleverley, 27, had struggled for game time at Goodison Park under Ronald Koeman this season and any aims to feature for the club were only made harder after they signed Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United.

The former England international previously spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Watford where he arguably produced the best football of his career thus far.

Walter Mazzarri’s side have an option to buy Cleverley at the end of the season and his arrival comes as a timely boost with the injuries stacking up for the Hornets.

Cleverley scored as many goals in his one season at Watford (11) as he has in his seven subsequent league campaigns combined.
