Lyon recieve €70m offer for long term Arsenal target

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed the club have received offers for star striker Alexandre Lacazette for as much as €70m (£61m).

Lacazette, 25, has been heavily linked with a move away from Lyon in the last few seasons and has attracted heavy interest from the Premier League in that time.

West Ham, Newcastle and Arsenal have previously been linked with the France international but have never been able to match Lyon’s valuation, while their president has revealed they have even turned down a monster bid this month for their ‘indispensable star’.

“Obviously, Alexandre is indispensable,” Aulas told RMC, via Get French Football. “Like Nabil [Fekir], like Corentin Tolisso and like all the players that we have offers for.

“Today we have six to seven offers for our best players. It is true that the offers relating Alexandre are between €40m and a bit, like West Ham last year, to €70m at the moment.”

Lacazette still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his existing deal with the French giants and it is not surprising that Lyon’s best performances this season have come when they’ve had their No.10 available.

Only Edinson Cavani (18) has scored more goals in Ligue 1 this season than Lacazette (13), while no player has scored more penalties in Europe’s top six leagues than the Lyon ace (6).
