Watford reject £25m bid from champions for Deeney

Watford have rejected an improved £25m bid from Leicester City for captain Troy Deeney, according to Press Association Sport.

Leicester have now had two bids rejected by the Hornets this summer with their latest £25m offer turned down at the weekend.

The Foxes are keen to bolster their offensive options ahead of welcoming Champions League football next season and have identified Deeney as one of their main targets to supplement Jamie Vardy and not replace him.

Only three players had a direct hand in more of their team’s goals than Deeney (35%) did for Watford last season.
