Chelsea ready £300,000-a-week deal for Hazard

Chelsea will offer Eden Hazard a new £300,000-a-week deal to fend off interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, claims The Daily Mail.

Hazard suggested after the 2018 World Cup he could leave Chelsea this summer after six years at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea wanted to secure Hazard’s long-term future midway through last season but the 27-year-old has refused to commit to the club.

The Belgium international has ruled out leaving Chelsea this month after the transfer window for English clubs shut at the start of the month.

Maurizio Sarri’s side can expect renewed interest from Madrid in the next 12 months but they want to end speculation about his future once and for all.

Chelsea are willing to make Hazard the best-paid player in the club’s history by offering him £300,000-a-week wages.

Hazard still has two years remaining on his current Chelsea deal but it remains to be seen whether he is willing to renew with the west London outfit.

Sarri has eased Hazard into the swing of things for Chelsea this summer following his exploits at the 2018 World Cup.

Hazard finished the World Cup as the highest WhoScored rated player (8.51) after winning the WhoScored Man of the Match award four times in six games.

Despite only managing 43 minutes of playing time in the Premier League this season, Hazard has still provided two assists for the Blues.

In fact, only Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy has more assists (3) and the Frenchman has played 137 minutes more than Hazard.
