Liverpool have turned down Crystal Palace’s offer of an initial £23m plus a further £7m in add-ons, according to BBC Sport.
Benteke, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to Palace this summer and Alan Pardew’s side already had a £25m bid knocked back in July.
Liverpool, who only signed Benteke for £32.5m last summer, are reportedly holding out for £30m guaranteed and felt that the £7m add-ons that Palace proposed were unrealistic.
In the last four Premier League campaigns no player has won more aerial duels than Benteke (546).
