Thomas Vermaelen is attracting interest from former side Arsenal and Premier League counterparts West Ham, according to the Daily Star.
Barcelona’s signing of Samuel Umtiti has plunged the Belgian’s future into doubt, with the centre-back now likely to be available for transfer.
Vermaelen is keen on a return to England, which could see Arsenal make a move for their former defender this summer.
West Ham, meanwhile, are in the market for a new centre-back after James Tomkins’ move to Crystal Palace once the transfer window opened.
A succession of injury problems means Vermaelen has made only 11 La Liga appearances in the last two seasons and with Barcelona’s capture of Lucas Digne, the 30-year-old is unlikely to see much first team action next term.
