Wilfried Zaha is closing in on a return to first team action and is targeting the welcome of Chelsea as his first match back after injury.
The Ivory Coast international hasn’t featured for the Eagles since sustaining a knee injury in the opening weekend 3-0 defeat to Huddersfield.
In his absence, Palace have floundered and are yet to score a league goal this season, while the south London side have lost their opening seven games of the campaign, matching the record set by Portsmouth in the 2009/10 season.
However, his return to training comes as a huge boost to Palace head coach Roy Hodgson, who is hoping to put the club’s first points on the board after the international break.
“An encouraging sign for Crystal Palace over the international break is the return to training of Wilfried Zaha,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The back-to-back winner of the club's Player of the Year award has been missing since the opening day defeat to Huddersfield Town with a knee injury, but he is now back with the ball at his feet once again, giving a timely boost to Roy Hodgson.
“As you can see by the video below, the Ivory Coast international is already beginning to display his unique talent once again as he aims to battle back for a spot in Hodgson's matchday squad against Chelsea next weekend.”
