Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign former Brazil international Alexandre Pato, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Pato, 26, has been rebuilding his career back in Brazil over the last few years and is targeting a return to Europe after a breathtaking campaign on loan at Sao Paulo last season.
The former AC Milan striker was once touted as one of the brightest prospects on the continent and has since been linked with almost every Premier League club since the January transfer window opened.
Corinthians are looking to cash in on the striker who has entered the final 12 months of his current deal, with Chelsea now reportedly leading the chase for his signature as they look to bolster their offensive options.
Pato enjoyed his most prolific season since the 2010/11 campaign (14) with Sao Paulo earlier this year (10) and appears to have put his injury woes behind him after making more appearances in the league (33) than any other campaign over the past seven seasons.
