Arsenal have earmarked Sampdoria starlet Emil Audero as a potential replacement for Petr Cech, claims Gianluca Di Marizo.
The Gunners are on the market for a new goalkeeper after Cech announced he will retire at the end of the current campaign.
Unai Emery’s side have no money to make any permanent signings this month and will instead wait until the summer before addressing Cech’s replacement.
Arsenal signed Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and the German goalkeeper has usurped Cech in the pecking order.
Audero has been a revelation for Sampdoria this season in his breakthrough campaign as a professional.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan from Juventus, though Sampdoria have an option to buy the Italy Under-21 international.
Only Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic (11) has kept more clean sheets than Audero (7) in Serie A this season.
