West Ham have bid £13m for Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan, claims Sky Sports.
The Hammers announced a £24m deal for Villarreal star Pablo Fornals in midweek and intend to raid LaLiga of more players this summer.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are locked in talks to sign Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo and have also turned their attentions to Eibar for midfield ace Jordan.
Pellegrini wants to bolster his midfield options this summer in order to ease the burden on Mark Noble and Declan Rice, who were ever-presents in the team last term.
Fornals’ arrival will add greater creative drive to West Ham’s midfield and now they want to add someone more defensively-minded to the squad.
Jordan has been identified as a top transfer target as a result and the Hammers have bid £13m for the 24-year-old.
The Spanish midfielder joined Eibar two seasons ago but was a key player for the LaLiga outfit last season, finishing the campaign as their highest WhoScored rated player (7.14).
Jordan played a direct hand in eight goals in 36 league appearances (four goals, four assists), while only Dani Parejo (48) created more goalscoring chances from set-pieces than the Eibar ace in the division (40).
