Leicester forward set for surprise new deal

Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa is on the verge of completing a stunning u-turn on his future by signing a new contract at the club, reports The Daily Mail.

Ulloa threatened he would never play for the club again in January when he was blocked from leaving the club after falling completely out of favour under then-manager Claudio Ranieri.

The 30-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current deal and looked destined to leave Leicester this summer, but it has now emerged he is on the brink of penning new terms after being convinced to stay by Craig Shakespeare, who rates the Argentine highly.

Leicester have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Kelechi Iheanacho but are open to selling club-record signing Islam Slimani, which would pave the way for more first-team opportunities for Ulloa next season.
