Arsenal are set to beat Manchester United and Bayern Munich to the signing of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, reports Italian publication Tuttosport.
The French youngster is one of the most sought after defenders on the continent given his good form at the heart of the RB Leipzig defence.
And a lowly release clause of just £53m makes Upamecano one of the most appealing targets in Europe, though that clause does expire at the end of June.
Upamecano's current deal with the Bundesliga side runs until next summer and while reports a few weeks ago suggested he'd pen a new short-term contract, nothing has since materialised.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but his good form and modest release clause meant a host of Europe's top sides had shown an interest in Upamecano.
However, it's reported now that the Gunners have won the race for Upamecano, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen in defence this summer.
Upamecano sat out the 2-0 win at Hoffenheim on Friday night due to suspension after his red card against Paderborn last weekend.
