Leicester City have made a £2m offer for AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong, according to Daily Mirror.
De Jong, 31, has been allowed to leave the Serie A giants this month and Leicester are looking to bring in another experienced midfielder with Gokhan Inler widely expected to leave in search of first-team football.
As part of the proposed offer, Leicester will also have to pay Milan an extra £1m if they manage to secure Champions League football for next season.
The ex-Netherlands international spent three years in the Premier League with Manchester City before moving to Milan in 2012, where he has found game time hard to come by.
In his first two campaigns in the Premier League only Benoit Assou-Ekotto (215) made more interceptions than Nigel de Jong (197).
