New West Ham manager David Moyes is already casting an eye to the January transfer window and wants to hand Olivier Giroud a way out of Chelsea, claims The Sun.
Moyes has been tasked with steering West Ham away from relegation after returning to the club in the wake of Manuel Pellegrini's sacking over the weekend.
West Ham are one place and one point above the bottom three and the Hammers are prepared to back Moyes in the January transfer window.
Moyes has already earmarked Giroud as a top transfer target, with the Frenchman keen to quit Chelsea next month.
The veteran striker has dropped completely out of favour under Frank Lampard this season and wants regular playing time ahead of Euro 2020.
Giroud fears missing out on the France squad altogether if he remains at Chelsea this season and Moyes is hoping to take advantage of the situation.
The 33-year-old has only made five Premier League appearances this season and got just 17 minutes playing time in the Champions League group stage.
Giroud actually has one of his poorest goalscoring records against West Ham, having netted just twice in 10 prior encounters with the Hammers. In fact, against only Liverpool (12) has Giroud faced more times in his career than West Ham.
