Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker will return to Vitesse Arhem on a season-long loan deal next season, the Dutch club have confirmed.
Baker, 21, spent last season on loan with Vitesse along with several other Chelsea players and impressed during his time there.
The promising midfielder played a pivotal role in England’s Under-21 side that won the Toulon tournament earlier this summer and Chelsea have allowed him to continue his development with Vitesse.
“There was interest from several clubs. Together with my family and Chelsea I have discussed the options and we wall believed that another year at Vitesse was the best option,” Baker told the Vitesse website, via Football Oranje.
Baker scored five goals and registered four assists in his 31 league appearances last season and Vitesse boasted a better win ratio with him in the starting XI (39.1%) compared to their success without him starting (27.3%).
