Lyon forward reveals La Liga ambitions

Lyon forward Nabil Fekir has revealed he would prefer to join a team in Spain in the future over a move to England, Germany or Italy.

The 23-year-old has been tipped for a big future after making great strides at Lyon since emerging into the first team in 2011.

Fekir made a sensational start to the campaign last season before a serious knee injury in September 2015 left him sidelined for seven months and the France international has made looking to recapture his best form ever since.

However, Fekir’s future is still expected to extend beyond the walls of Lyon’s Parc Olympique stadium and the talented forward has revealed a move to Spain would be his preferred choice in the future.

"I’m not thinking about it now [leaving Lyon],” Fekir told French radio station RTL via Football Espana.  “We’re a long way from the end of the season even if there are three months left. I’m not thinking about it at all.

“I like Spain. It’s a league where they play good football. That’s the league I prefer. After that, England and Germany are good. I like Italy a bit less.”

Fekir has scored four goals in 18 league appearances this season, while also registering two assists in what has been a disappointing campaign for the forward. Having said that, no Lyon player has registered more key passes in Ligue 1 this season than Fekir (38).
