Manchester United will demand world-record fee for Barcelona target

Manchester United will demand in excess of £200m in order to convince them to sell midfielder Paul Pogba after his relationship with head coach Jose Mourinho took a turn for the worse, reports the Daily Mirror.

Video footage on Wednesday showed the pair in heated discussion in training after it emerged that Pogba had been stripped as vice-captain earlier this week.

The World Cup winner has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Barcelona, PSG and Juventus all possible destinations for Pogba.

However, United will demand upwards of £200m if they are to sell the 25-year-old, eclipsing Neymar’s world-record move to PSG last summer.

Mourinho feels Pogba lacks the qualities required to skipper the side after the France international criticised the Portuguese manager’s tactics following the 1-1 draw with Wolves last weekend.

The former Juventus star played no part in United’s penalty shoot-out Carabao Cup loss to Derby County on Tuesday night, but has impressed when called upon this term.

Indeed, Pogba has had a direct hand in six goals, scoring four, in seven Premier League and Champions League appearances.
