Manchester United reject swap deal involving Neymar and Pogba

Manchester United have turned down a sensational swap deal involving Paul Pogba and Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar, claims The Independent.

Neymar is reportedly keen to leave PSG and return to Barcelona just two years after joining the French side in a world record £200m deal.

The Brazil international has proved more trouble than he is worth in that time and PSG are also open to his departure.

Barcelona have reportedly switched their attentions from Antoine Griezmann to Neymar and are even willing to offer PSG some of their players in return.

However, it has now emerged PSG have tried to find a solution themselves by offering Neymar to long-term admirers United.

Ed Woodward has obsessed over making a Galactico signing like Neymar but even the United chief accepts a deal for the 27-year-old is out of reach.

Alexis Sanchez’s £500,000-a-week wages have caused bedlam within the ranks at United and Neymar is reportedly on eye-watering £900,000-a-week wages at PSG.

United are also still hopeful they can convince Pogba to turn down advances of Juventus and Real Madrid to stay at Old Trafford next season.

Both players are keen for a change of scenery this summer, but while PSG are looking to offload Neymar, the same cannot be said for United in regards to Pogba’s future.

Owing to two serious ankle injuries, Neymar has failed to complete a full season since moving to PSG two years ago.

Nevertheless, Neymar has still played a direct hand in 54 goals in 37 league games for PSG (34 goals, 20 assists).
