Manchester United and Chelsea are set to do battle for the signing of Valencia winger Sofiane Feghouli, claims The Sun.
The Algeria international will be available on a free in the summer after rejecting a new offer from Valencia and could even be prized away at a cut-price when the transfer window reopens in January.
Both clubs have reportedly already been in contact for Feghouli and while Chelsea are favourites, they will be cautious of United’s interest as Louis van Gaal continues to scour the market for pace on the flanks.
The 25-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth under Nuno Gomes this season and has only scored one goal from his eight appearances. His end product would be cause for concern for any potential admirers, with only Alvaro Negredo (57.1%) posting a worse pass success rate than Feghouli (70.9%) of outfields at Valencia in the league this season.
