Chelsea have submitted an opening offer for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are eyeing a move for a new number one amid concerns over Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez’s suitability to the role under new manager Enzo Maresca, and Jorgensen has now emerged as their top target for the position.
Maresca is keen for his goalkeepers to be adept with the ball at their feet, with their presence key to the way his teams build up.
After discussions with the player’s representatives earlier this week, it’s been revealed that Chelsea’s first offer is in the region of €20 million.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper is said to be keen on the move, though it remains to be seen if this opening proposal is deemed acceptable by his club.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, who knows Maresca well after working under him last season.
