Atletico Madrid will sit down with Fernando Torres regarding his future at the club at Christmas, reports AS.
Torres, 31, has entered the final 12 months of his current deal with the Rojiblancos but both parties are expected to come to a successfully conclusion to extend his stay at the Vicente Calderon.
The Spain international worked hard in the summer to be in the physical condition required to hit the ground running under Diego Simeone and is reaping the rewards having scored twice in Atletico’s opening four league matches.
Torres rejoined his boyhood club last summer following several years of disappointment at Chelsea and is expected to finish his career where it all started for him 14 years ago.
