Everton are closing in on the club-record capture of Yacine Brahimi from FC Porto, reports the Guardian.
The winger has been strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park of late and is now expected to undergo a medical on Merseyside today after being granted permission to leave the Algeria national team camp to discuss personal terms.
Despite the arrival of Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace, manager Ronald Koeman is still keen to bolster his attacking options, with the Dutchman targeting Brahimi and Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini.
It was believed a deal for the latter was dead in the water, though Everton remain keen on completing a deal for Gabbiadini before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
