Chelsea and Liverpool dealt blow in pursuit of Bundesliga starlet
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insists Christian Pulisic will not leave the club in January amid interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
Pulisic will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Dortmund contract at the end of the current campaign and negotiations have reportedly hit impasse.
The 20-year-old has become something of a forgotten man at Dortmund this season following the emergence of teen sensation Jadon Sancho.
Pulisic has only started four league matches this season and reports emerged over the weekend suggesting Chelsea were going to sign the United States international in a £70m deal in January.
Liverpool are also understood to be interested in the Dortmund youngster but Zorc has refuted any suggestions they will entertain offers for Pulisic until the summer.
“We have known these rumours for many years. We are planning with him at least until the end of the season,” he told Kicker. “We will need Christian significantly.”
Pulisic has completed the most dribbles in the Bundesliga since the start of last season (90).
