Everton are interested in Burnley boss Sean Dyche becoming their new full-time manager, reports Sky Sports.
The Toffees sacked Ronald Koeman at the start of last week and placed David Unsworth in interim charge until they appoint a permanent manager.
Dyche has been the frontrunner since Koeman was dismissed and he solidified his status as the favourite after Burnley beat Newcastle 1-0 on Monday night, which marked his fifth anniversary at the Clarets.
Unsworth, who has already overseen two defeats, is expected to remain in charge for matches against Lyon and Watford this week and no decision on Koeman’s full-time successor is expected imminently.
“I just keep getting on with my job, simple as that,” Dyche told Sky Sports after beating Newcastle.
“We just keep getting on with it. That’s my focus and my team’s focus. We have to do planning of course, but generally we take each game as it comes, we work on that, then we process the information, debrief it and we move forward again and keep that clarity of thought. That’s how we keep going.”
While Everton are in the bottom three, Burnley are currently seventh and level on points with sixth-placed Liverpool after securing their fourth win of the campaign.
In fact, all five of Burnley’s league home wins in 2017 have been by a 1-0 scoreline.
