Madrid rejected world record bid for Ronaldo

Paris Saint-Germain had a staggering world record £110m bid rejected for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to Globo Esporte.

Ronaldo, 30, has been heavily linked with a move to the Ligue 1 champions since the club were taken over by Qatari investors in 2011.

The Parisien outfit have seemingly earmarked the three-time World Player of the Year as an ideal replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is expected to leave PSG at the end of the season.

Despite having their astonishing bid for Ronaldo rejected, Madrid are thought to be keen on parting ways with the forward next summer, where Laurent Blanc’s side are expected to renew their interest.

Since the start of the 2009/10 campaign, only Lionel Messi (232) has scored more goals across Europe’s top five leagues than the Madrid talisman (225).

Additionally, the Portugal international has been named man of the match at least 59 times more than any of his Madrid teammates in La Liga during this period.
