Fulham have launched a stunning £26m bid for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, claims The Sun.
The Cottagers want to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic from Premier League rivals Newcastle but are yet to agree a deal with the Magpies.
Mitrovic spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham and played an integral part in their promotion to the Premier League.
Fulham have hit a stumbling block in talks with Newcastle and have been forced to pursue alternatives with time running out in the transfer window.
Jose has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League but snubbed interest from Everton to sign a new deal with Sociedad in September.
The 26-year-old earned his first Brazilian call-up for matches against Russia and Germany at the end of March but was an unused substitute in both matches.
Jose has reached double figures for goals in in each of the last two La Liga campaigns, netting 27 goals in the process.
The Brazilian striker would similar provide a similar skill set to Mitrovic, renowned for his aerial threat.
In fact, only two La Liga players had more headed attempts than Jose (28) last season and the Sociedad ace has a statistically calculated strength of ‘headed attempts’.
