Premier League duo chasing Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale

Crystal Palace and Watford have entered the race to sign out of contract Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale, according to The Daily Mirror.

Stockdale, 31, is free to leave Brighton at the end of the season when his contract runs out but he will not be short of admirers after playing an integral part in the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

The Brighton No.1 was subject of interest from Premier League leaders Chelsea in January but looks to have missed the chance to play for one of England’s elite clubs.

However, he could soon be joining Brighton in the Premier League, albeit with Watford or Palace, who are both ready to rival Stockdale’s home club Leeds for his signature in the summer.

Stockdale kept 19 clean sheets in 45 appearances in the Championship this season, at least two more than any other goalkeeper.
