Juventus issue hands off warning to Barcelona

Juventus director Beppe Marotta has assured fans the club has no intentions of selling Paulo Dybala or Alvaro Morata in the future.

Dybala, 22, joined the Serie A champions from Palermo in the summer and is quickly emerging as their talismanic forward as they climb back towards the top of the table.

Reports had emerged suggesting Barcelona had already made contact with representatives of the Argentine forward over a possible transfer next summer, but Marotta has categorically ruled out his sale.

“He is a player who is improving and still hasn’t expressed his full potential, because he is so young,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“Week by week he is showing what he can do, but we have no intention of selling him this year or any other year. We invested a lot of money in him and he represents the foundations to build on the future.”

Morata has also been regularly linked with a return to Real Madrid since the end of last season and they still have a buy-back option on the forward despite him signing a new long-term deal with Juventus last week.

However, Juventus’ director has no concerns and has revealed the club are actively looking to remove the clause.

“It won’t make any difference, it’s just that if he remains with us then it’s only right to invest in a player who has plenty of quality,” Marotta continued.

“We will enter negotiations with Real Madrid as soon as possible to resolve this situation and can make it transparent.

“We hope to remove this clause. Real Madrid are well aware that he is a player who was promising and is now to all intents and purposes a star.”

Morata hasn’t quite had the impact on the same scale as Dybala this season. In fact, the Spain international has only scored one league goal so far, whereas Dybala has scored at least four more than any other teammate (8) and has also registered three assists.
