Real Madrid have announced Luka Modric has suffered a knee injury but have not put a timeframe on his absence.
Modric, 31, has suffered damage to the articular cartilage in his left knee and will certainly miss their league clash with Eibar on Sunday.
With Casemiro already signed it leaves Madrid without two vital players in their midfield, although Zinedine Zidane will hope the international break will allow him to recover those players.
No Madrid player has completed more dribbles in La Liga this season than Modric (10).
