Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has returned to training ahead of schedule to provide Jurgen Klopp with a timely boost ahead of their Europa League second-leg against Villarreal, reports The Daily Mail.
Can, 22, has returned to first-team training just 18 days after hobbling off against Borussia Dortmund and leaving Anfield on crutches in the quarter-finals of the Europa League versus.
The Germany international has been one of Liverpool’s most important players this season and his return would be a huge boost as the Reds look to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first-leg against Villarreal.
In fact, of players to have made at least three appearances in the Europa League for Liverpool this season, only James Milner (7.37) has gained a higher WhoScored.com rating than Can (7.30).
